It is a common misconception that we spend our daylight hours basking beneath crystal blue skies with temperatures rarely dipping below 30°C. On the majority of occasions this would be true, however, we are currently being haunted by an impenetrable layer of grey cloud. Though the temperature remains high we have spent the majority of today unsuccessfully attempting to catch a glimpse of the lost sun; last seen two days ago.
Having spoken to the parents we were both surprised and heartened by the news that many European countries are suffering similarly poor weather. According to our reliable sources we were informed that residents of Northern England have been hardest hit by the recent influx of snow. Particularly shocking were reports that a Mr John Fountain of Sheffield has unfortunately mislaid his white Mondeo in the Gleadless area of town.
We understand that Mr Fountain has spent the previous three days searching the streets close to his home in a vain attempt to find his prized possession. John is both cold and hungry so if any of our readers happen to have some leftover soup or a warm jumper then please contact us and we will endeavour to distribute your kind donations to the gentleman in question. John, our thoughts go out to you and your family during this tough time.
To that end I hereby dedicate the following image to those UK residents who are currently knee deep in snow; you’re not alone in your suffering.
